Project Cicero is grateful for a generous contribution of books from the estate of Diane Wolkstein. Wolkstein was a storyteller, a folklorist and the author of 23 books. She revived the art of telling stories, concentrating on the folklore and mythology of countries all over the world. She was the official New York City storyteller from 1968-1971, establishing the Saturday tradition of telling stories at the foot of the Hans Christian Anderson statue in Central Park. Ms. Wolkstein helped found Bank Street College’s graduate storytelling program and was a visiting teacher of mythology at NYU. Project Cicero is honored to share her wonderful works with our participants.
