Our Impact
There are numerous metrics by which the effect of Project Cicero can be judged. Click on any of the options below for more information.
- 1.5 Million books have been distributed to under-resourced schools (Pre K-12) in New York City as well as organizations that serve children, including Children's Aid Society, Kids in Distressed Situations, Literacy Inc, New York City Housing Authority, Room to Grow.
- 350,000 New York City children have been reached
- 8,500 New York City teachers have chosen books for their under-resourced classrooms and schools
- To accomplish this, thousands of families have donated books and given their time to collect, sort and distribute these books on behalf of Project Cicero.
- New Survey Results
90% of our teachers told us that Project Cicero books have increased their students' enjoyment of reading.
90% of our teachers told us that Project Cicero books have introduced their students to new subject matter.
80% of our teachers told us that Project Cicero books improved their students' reading level and/or skills.
Project Cicero increased the number of books in classroom libraries by nearly two thirds.
